Die ländliche Region Veneto im Foto

“The Veneto Region presents the 1st International Photography Prize “Earth Diaries-Diari della Terra”. A free competition open to all artists and beginners, both Italian and foreign, who can submit their own vision of the Veneto countryside, in a maximum of 5 shots, and win cash prizes as well as access to an important circuit of collective exhibitions.

Rural landscapes and views, details of environments, plants, fruits, animals, but also farmers and professionals to work, methods and processing times of traditional or innovative use of resources, wise looks and gestures: the reality of rural Veneto offers endless inspiration to become a fascinating photographic subject, to explore with curiosity and awareness.

This is the premise of the 1st International Photography Prize “Earth
Diaries”, an unprecedented competition organized by the Veneto Region in its statements on the Rural Development Program 2007-2013, which aims to raise awareness of a bigger audience on the vast rural reality, its different aspects and territorial, environmental, structural, cultural, economic and social features, and whose incisor motto is “Every seed is precious, let’s raise it together.”

European Community is in fact to inform and involve in the best possible way consumers, operators and those who benefit directly or indirectly to the Rural Development Program, widely informing on support measures and actions and on use of resources made available to the rural world.”

Preise und Ausstellungen
“The top three winners, which will be announced at the awards ceremony, will win cash prizes, respectively, of 2,000 €, 1,000 € and 500 €.
But the jury – made up of prestigious names in the contemporary art scene supported by leaders of the Veneto Region – will also award relevant mentions: the Jury President Plate, the Best Under 25 Plate, the Best European Artist Plate and the Best Veneto Artist Plate.

Furthermore, the 30 finalists artworks will be displayed in a collective exhibition at the renowned Palazzo Correr (Campo Santa Fosca) in Venice, in the month of January 2010. This exhibition will follow other collective exhibitions in various provinces of the Veneto Region, covering the whole year 2010″
